Stop using Marseille soap on your face. pH ~9–10, alkaline: it breaks the hydrolipidic film, worsens redness and the dehydration of your dry areas, and makes the skin hyper-reactive to retinol/BHA. Replace with a gentle low-pH cleanser (5–5.5), a soap-free gel or balm.
You're missing sun protection (SPF 30–50, every morning). Non-negotiable: retinol + smoking already speed up collagen loss and the appearance of wrinkles. Without SPF, you damage faster than you repair. It's the #1 anti-aging step, before any serum.
Retinol 1% = the strongest from The Ordinary. With redness + smoking + mature skin, start at 1 evening/week for 2 weeks, then 2×/week. Apply last or "sandwiched" (cream → retinol → cream) to buffer. Never the same evening as BHA or the exfoliant.
Tea tree: spot use only, diluted, on an isolated pimple. Pure essential oil on redness-prone areas = irritation. Never over the whole face.
